By participating in A Ride to Remember, I'm committing to ride 255 miles and to raise funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Now is the time to come together to change the course of this disease!
Watching someone succumb to the affects of Alzheimer's is a painful experience. The person you knew slowly disappears until they are just a shell to the outside world. While they are still recognizable, they are unable to communicate w/ those around them. The hardest part is wondering if they are still able to comprehend their surroundings but not express the same by being trapped inside the shell w/ no way out. Hopefully my participation in this event will help w/ the research being done to enable answers to these questions to be found.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to provide care support for all affected and advance research toward better treatments, prevention, and ultimately a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Again, one cannot adequately express how watching a loved one disappear to this disease w/o any way to assist is terrible & should not have to be experienced by anybody. They are here but not in a tangible fashion & you can only wonder what they are truly experiencing w/i the shell we can observe. It is my hope that by participating in this ride the support provided to the Alzheimer's Association in its mission to reach a cure will succeed so others do not have to have a similar experience.
Thank you for joining the fight to #ENDALZ! Your support means the world to me.
Cheer Me On!
