More than 5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer's, and this number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Alzheimer's is devastating for the person affected as well as their family and friends, who watch as their loved one becomes a stranger.
My Grandmother is currently living with Alzheimer's. It is terrifying and heartbreaking to see first hand the effects of this terrible disease. In addition my grandmother, my wife's grandmother also suffered from a form of Alzheimer's, and passed away from it in 2013.
It is my hope that ongoing research can help us slow or stop the progress of this terrible disease.
I ride for my family. I ride for a CURE!
Since 2019, I've put my money where my mouth is. As all riders do, we cover all expenses not covered by our entry fees (hotels, etc.) allowing 100% of your donation to go directly to End Alz. I ride, you donate, AND with your help, we have raised over $10,00 for this cause since '19.
By participating in A Ride to Remember, I am challenging myself both mentally and physically by committing to ride across the entire state of South Carolina. As part of my commitment, I am also working to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Association, which is working relentlessly to advance the care, support, and treatment efforts for Alzheimer's affected patients and families.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs as well as advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's disease! Your support means the world to me on this challenging but memorable journey!
Cheer Me On!
