Why I Ride: Simply put it is for my dad. I lost him at only 84 in 2018 after a 12-year decline into darkness. It sucked. It's so hard to watch one of your heros waste away like that. And candidly, I am riding for myself: my grandmother (dad's mom) had it, he had it.... well, the statistics are not on my or my brother's side.
So I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s, paying it forward with my time, money and each pedal stroke. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease. Look at what the world did for Covid in less than a year. We can do that for Alzheimer's and other dementias as well.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
