Why I Ride: I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. For me, my dad (Ken Wacker), passed away from this disease on September 15, 2022, after about a 10-year battle. In addition, my mom (Joan Wacker) cared for him at home over those years. We will honor him this fall with a bike ride with all proceeds funding research so that no person or family will have to suffer from this disease in the future.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
