Why I Ride:
I ride for all of those impacted by, and lost to, this devastating disease. I lost my dad, Gilbert Valerius, in September 2020 after a lengthy battle with ALZ. I ride to raise funds for research that will result in a better future for everyone impacted by Alzheimer's and the family and friends who support and care for them. In addition to completing the 100KM ALZ ride, I have set a personal goal of riding 4,000 miles in 2024.
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
