Why I Ride:
I am riding for my Mom, Purificacion "Pure" San Pablo Burns, my grandmother Pascuala "Paz" Roman San Pablo. My dad William and his sister Marie.
For my mom, I started to notice some memory issues with my mom late 2019, but she wasn't officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's until after the Covid pandemic shutdown/restriction was lifted. Being the primary caregiver for my father for 12+ years took a toll on her. The last 2 years prior to his death (not Covid related) in June 2020 was difficult for Pure.
Today, she is staying with me and living a relatively stress free (at least for her) and laid back retirement life.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
I am going for the 60+ mile challenge ride.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
