Hi Everyone! Last year I participated in my first Ride to End Alzheimer's and I'm looking forward to riding again in addition to being a member of the planning committee!
I am riding in honor of my grandparents Kay and Dave Armstrong and have created a team in their honor and to honor everyone we have lost, everyone who is fighting, and all of the caretakers whose lives are forever impacted.
I had the honor of living with my Nana, Kay Armstrong, while she began to experience the symptoms and saw first hand how difficult this disease is on both the one diagnosed and everyone around them. My grandfather, Dave Armstrong, also experienced dementia in his final days. As an avid biker in life, he now rides with me in spirit every time I hop on the saddle.
I also ride in honor of my many great aunts and uncles and greater family members on my mom's side who fight and have lost the battle with this brutal disease.
Would you consider riding with me on team (Arm)Stronger and/or supporting my fundraising campaign? My goal is to raise $1500 for Alzheimer's research, because together, we can make a difference.
Why I Ride: I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
