Why I Ride: This will be my third year to ride and I can't wait! I am riding in support and honor of my big brother, Bill. There has never been a time in my life that he wasn't cheering me on with love and enthusiasm for anything I chose to undertake. I ride in support of and love for his kids and grandkids. I also ride in support of our siblings who love him with all their hearts.
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. There are more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care- they are tireless and they inspire me. As a nurse for the last 40 years, I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where EVERY DOLLAR raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Last year my teammates inspired me to do 60 miles- we'll see what this year brings with my newly repaired hip. I'm determined to go as far as I can! Thank you for joining my family in cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
