Why I Ride: My father-in-law was the life of the party. He took over every room he was in. Suddenly he wasn't, He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015. We watched him become a completely different person, this once lively man was quiet and secluded. We watched my mother-in-law become his full time caregiver. I watched my wife and brother-in-law feel helpless and cheated that they no longer had the father they knew. Sadly he passed in July 2021.
We first became aware of the Alzheimer's association in 2017 through the Wal to End ALZ. In 2021 my wife and I participated in the Ride to End ALZ in Waverly, TX.
The Alzheimer's Associations goal is to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementias by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction, and early detection, and maximizing early care and support.
100% of funds raised through this ride, and all ALZ events, directly impacts the association's ability to accelerate science towards methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Please consider participating in the ride, volunteering or donating to my effort to raise funds.
