Why I Ride: I am excited to participate in the Ride June 9, 2024, in Ft. Collins, CO, to help fund research to END ALZ! My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 20 years ago, then my brother, Duane, was diagnosed with it. Not much longer and his wife, Bev, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. All three did not survive. In 2016 my wife, Donna, had definite signs of dementia. Our PCP gave her several tests and suspected dementia probably caused by Alzheimer's and prescribed Aircept. She strongly supported my participation in the Ride to End ALZ. She died December 8, 2022. I'm riding in honor of Donna.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
