Why I Ride: I ride for my mom (MAMI). This will be my third ride. I ride to honor her and the fight she gave to this disease. It gives me strength to know that I can do something in her honor to help others suffering from the same disease. We lost my mom to Alzheimer's on April 14, 2023. Watching her slowly disappear was one of the hardest things to have to go through. We miss her very much.
Being her caretaker helped me find strength I didn't know I had. It takes a lot of patience and love to be able to give her the care she needed while we all joined her in this journey.
My mom is my inspiration and knowing that this is helping many people living with this disease, and all the family members and friends who provide them with care.
I know other individuals and caretakers and I do not want anyone else to go through what I went through. We are making progress. This is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one-day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on. If you have a loved one fighting this battle tell me about it. I will dedicate a mile of my ride to them and you!
Cheer Me On!
