Why I Ride: As many of you know by now, my superhero mom was diagnosed 2 years ago with this disease. Her mom as well finished the last 5 years of her loooong life suffering from this disease as well. We all watched her decline. I watched as her husband of 70+ years and our family could only stand by, unable to do anything. It's a helpless feeling. There's nothing you can do. I am not looking forward to watching my mom or my family go through that. And I sure as hell hope this skips a few generations. But that is why I am riding.
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
