Why I Ride: I ride for my mom Patsy, my Aunt Nina, my Grandmother Beulah and Grandfather Albert, who all suffered with this tragic, cruel disease. I ride for my besty, Leslie who just lost her mom Marilyn to this agonizing disease. I ride for one of my favorite work buddies, Norm, who is in the middle of this nightmare. As an Alzheimers' Association facilitator for a caregiver support group, I ride for all the AMAZING ANGELS who are or have been caregivers for their loved ones. I have had the humbling honor of witnessing the grace, grief, anger, resentment, anguish, guilt, confusion, exhaustion, resourcefulness, sacrifice, brilliance, resilience, and always, always the love these caregivers experience in this one-way journey with their loved ones. Finally, I ride for the future of my daughter Chelsea and her beautiful family, in hope that Alzheimer's and all the other forms of dementia never touch them. Let's RIDE!
Cheer Me On!
