Why I Ride: I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease. This year I have decided to join two of my other cycling buddies and try to directly raise funds and go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am in the photo (first person on the left) supporting my friends by riding with them last year.
With more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care, we all know someone who has been affected by Alzheimer's. My Uncle Sid was affected by Alzheimer's. As his caregivers, my aunt and cousins were also affected by this awful disease. I ride in his memory and to raise funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
Over several weeks, starting August 24, I will be riding over 150 miles to raise funds for Alzheimer's research. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
