Why I Ride:
In 2010, I started my goodbyes to an amazing woman known as Mom, Grammy, Auntie Pat, and Pat Blackmer - I said my last goodbye to her in April 2020. Her journey with Alzheimers was heartbreaking but also filled with funny anecdotes and inspiring moments. I am now inspired to help find a cure for this awful disease. Since my last science class was as a Freshman in College, I will leave it to the experts but hope that I can help them with funding and support.
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
On August 28, I will ride the 27 mile Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park, a beautiful but challenging, hilly ride with amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful mountains surrounding Bar Harbor, ME.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
