Why I Ride: As many of you know my Mom is in the later stages of Alzheimer's disease. A few years ago she was a vibrant, active retiree enjoying multiple golf and bowling leagues and successfully living on her own. We had not known how far she had progressed in this disease until my borther Allan passed away also from Alzeimer's and we were preparing for his funeral. We immediately moved Mom in with us until we could find the care she would need for the rest over her life. She is still peaceful and otherwise healthy, but has been robbed of the rest of her life from this disease.
Please join me in the fight to end this disease that many of us will eventually also die from. So much progress has been made in recent years and much more needs to be done. Contribute today. My ride is Oct 13. Now for the canned stuff. Thanks and Cheers. Ron
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
