Why I Ride:
To my dear friends & generous donors!!
I ride for my beautiful mother-in-law, Bridget Rud!! Bridget (Ron's mom) was more than a sparkle of joy in all of our lives. She was an incredible person that lived to love everyone, which she did without abandon. But since the wrath of Alzheimer's has attacked her, she is locked in a shell unable to give us anything but a slight glimpse of her old adorable self.
Several of you donated to my "birthday fund-drive for Alzheimer's. Thank you for that. Please support me again as I honor Bridget by riding in the RIDE TO END ALZ, a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association.
Alzheimer's Association is leading the way in the fight to end this disease and all other dementia, by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, along with maximizing quality care and support.
I'm a little nervous about the long-distance bike ride, but I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, including Bridget, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. The Ride to End ALZ® is a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on. Thank you for showing your love for Bridget. Thank you for everything!!
