Why I Ride: I remain determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s, no matter how far or how long it takes. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am convinced that the first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, just waiting for our help!
My father's story will seem familiar to many of the families affected by Alzheimer's. He suffered with the disease; it is likely that his 3 brothers did likewise. Given the genetic linkage with some types of Alzheimer's, I am not only riding to honor my father, but also to END this disease so that my brothers and sisters, and our children and grandchildren, and anyone else at risk will never have to contend with it.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
