With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for your contribution and cheering me on.
Why I Ride:
I am riding for my Mom, Purificacion "Pure" San Pablo Burns. I noticed memory issues with my mom late 2019. She was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's after the Covid pandemic shutdown/restriction was lifted late 2020, early 2021. Being my father's primary caregiver for 12+ years took a toll on her. The last 2 years prior to his death in June 2020 was difficult for the family, but was extra difficult for Pure. Today, Pure lives with me and enjoys (as much as she can remember) retirement life and living with Alzheimer's.
I am riding for my grandmother, Pascuala "Lola Paz" Roman San Pablo, the matriarch the Roman San Pablo clan.
I am riding for my dad William "Willy" Burns. He hated the fact that I ride bicycles, but I'm sure he would be proud that I'm participating in Ride to End ALZ®
I am riding for my aunt, Marie (Mandie) Burns Soliman, my dad's sister. Auntie Mandie passed away this past July.
I am also riding for my kids, Logann, Brooke, and Ethann. I am confident that with your help, they will witness the first survivor of Alzheimer's.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. This is the 2nd annual Ride to End ALZ® Minnesota. I loved the challenge ride last year so much that I also joined the volunteer committee for this year's event.
Cheer Me On!
