Why I Ride: I'm riding to continue the work my Dad started over 20 years ago when he first volunteered to be part of an ALZ drug study. Knowing the disease as both a son and doctor, he wanted to do his part to bring attention and medical advancements to finding a cure. His commitment was steadfast even after being diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment by continuing to be part of drug studies and sharing his story publicly for over 6 years on the local news station, WCCO.
My Dad passed away this year while living in memory care. Seeing the devastating progression during the last year was humbling and further inspired me and my family to continue his work toward finding a cure.
I ride for my Dad, for the amazing people I've met living with ALZ, for friend's parents, for the caregivers, and for all those who have been affected or will be, by ALZ. Together, we can make a difference and have some fun!
I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on, supporting through donations or thoughts of encouragement. We can make a difference!
Cheer Me On!
