We lost Candace “Candy” Hunt on April 9th.  This ride is extra special to us because it will be two days before what would be her 70th birthday. 

Candy had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and an ornery sense of humor.  She was a loving and compassionate person and she will be greatly missed.  In her lifetime, she touched many lives. if you knew her well, she probably tried to feed you—food was one of her many passions!

Candy actually published a cookbook in 1997 and it remains cherished and referenced today by family and friends.  To fuel our mission for raising funds in her honor we will be updating her cookbook to include many recipes that were not in the original.  With each donation ($30 or more) you are not just acquiring recipes, you’re investing in hope and progress. 

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are acting as their caregivers. 

We are going the distance for all those affected while raising funds and awareness to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. 

Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. But together, we can help change that. 100 percent of the funds raised from this event will go toward the Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
