WHY I RIDE: The Ride to End ALZ is now my ride, for as long as my 78 year old body can ride. 2023 will be my 2nd year to participate by riding and fundraising for a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. I rode 5 years for Diabetes, 8 years for Multiple Sclerosis and I have met some incredible people living with these diseases. Alzheimer's Disease hits home, as my Mom lived almost 10 years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 2 months short of being 94 years old in 2017, when the devastating effects of ALZ took her life. More currently in December 2022, one day short of a month after being with my 70 year old brother and riding in the Ride to End ALZ, my brother passed away of Alzheimer's Disease. He was diagnosed at the age of 67 and survived only 3 years. We all look forward to learning that we finally have the 1st survivor of ALZ. There are survivors of many diseases, but no one diagnosed with ALZ has survived. Thank you for reading WHY I RIDE and for your donation.
