Why I Ride: We lost our mom last year to ALZ after battling this disease for several years. To watch this beautiful woman, mother, friend and wife, get robbed of what the "golden years" was to be envisioned, was devastating. I had never known what loss of someone close was like until she passed. It has left a huge hole in my soul that can never really be filled.
I will be riding in memory of my mom, Nancy Carney to rehydrate my heart as well as to bring awareness to this debilitating disease, and share in comradely with others that have lost loved ones as well.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
