Why I Ride: I am riding to honor my mother, Evelyn J. Barnard, who passed away on October 16, 2021 after an 8 year battle with Alzheimer's. My mother was everything to me as a kid and as I grew into an adult. No one should have to be robbed of their life by this disease and especially not someone as beautiful and generous as my mother. Between 2022 and 2023, I raised nearly $5,000 to help find an end to this disease and I hope to raise $2,000 in 2024. I will once again ride hard to honor Mom and all who have had their lives impacted by Alzheimer's, including my Grandma Nell and the family members of the other residents who lived at the memory care center where my mom lived out the last 4 months of her life.
Please support me in my effort by making a donation. For the second year in a row, I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ. It will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024 and is a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer's. Thank you for cheering me on.
