Why I Ride: The personal experiences of friends and colleagues who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s inspire me to do whatever I can to bring about breakthroughs for the treatment of this terrible disease.
That’s why, after a long break from competitive cycling, I have decided to climb back on the bike on June 1, 2024, to take on the challenge of cycling 100 miles to raise much needed funds for research and support for the Alzheimer's Association.
Right now, there's no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I respectfully ask for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
This year’s New England ride starts and finishes in Hampton Beach, NH, my childhood hometown. The 100-mile route dips into Massachusetts including through the beautiful City of Newburyport.
To underscore my commitment to the cause, in addition to my own sweat equity to earn your donation I am personally matching your contribution 100% dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000.
I never quit a worthy challenge. I ride to honor all who suffer from Alzheimer's, for their loved ones and, for my family, friends and colleagues who support me.
Thank you,
Steve
