Why I ride: I began cycling about 7 years ago after some encouragement from my ski buddies. I have completed a few 50 mile fundraisers, and this ALZ Century ride in 2022. Sadly our 2023 ride had to be cancelled due to a crazy rain and wind storm along the coast. I was just recovering from knee surgery, so maybe not the worst thing.
Why I Ride To End ALZ: I chose this ride for my friend Peter who rides in honor of his father who passed away in 2021 from Alzheimer's related illness.
Why you should donate: The sad truth is that Alzheimer's is on the rise and by 2050 researchers estimate that the number of dementia cases will triple of what they are today. The good news is that researchers are getting closer to understanding what causes ALZ and how to delay the onset of symptoms or prevent the disease all together. Please consider donating to this cause that is very close to my heart. Every dollar raised goes to support the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on!
