Why I Ride: At the urging of my wife Shannon, I got a bike in 2021... and quickly came to love cycling. In 2022, I completed my first Alzheimer's Ride - the 62-mile "Metric Century" (my longest ride so far) - in memory of my mother, whom I lost to Alzheimer's in 2010 at age 67.
Over the years, I've come to realize my mother's biggest wish for me was to find the simple joys in life. For me, time on the bike is one of those joys - and I know Mom would be pleased by my passion for cycling.
This year, I'm riding to help the millions of people battling Alzheimer's disease, and the many millions more who care for them. I'm trying the 100-mile "Century Ride" - which is sure to be a challenge. But my mother never backed down from a challenge - and so I'm hopeful to raise awareness of Alzheimer's, help fight the disease, and let every turn of the pedals represent those small joys in life.
I appreciate your support, and I'm happy you're taking this journey with me.
Cheer Me On!
