Friends and Family:
I hope this message finds you all well. I will be participating in the Ride to End Alzheimer's once again this year. This will be my sixth ride.
As many of you know, my father, Gerry Jussaume, passed away from complications from Alzheimer's on August, 14, 2020. He passed just shy of his 70th birthday. My Dad fought this horrible disease for 12 years. It was a long struggle. He would have turned 73 this year. I still miss him every day.
One of my Dad's favorite activities was to ride his bike. I spent many days with my Dad riding the roads of New England. He was my favorite person to ride with.
In addition to riding for my Dad, I will be riding in memory of my good friend Tim O'Keefe's father, Sergeant Michael "Mickey" O'Keefe, who just recently lost his battle with Alzheimer's. Many of you knew Mickey all too well and were devastated to hear of his loss.
This year I will be riding in the MA/NH Ride to End Alzheimer's on June 1. On that day, I will pedal my bike just over 100 miles in memory of all of us that have been touched by Alzheimer's. To do that, I need your support! I have set my fundraising goal at $3000.00 but I would love to exceed that amount so that we can make as big a difference as we can in fighting this disease and moving toward the goal of finding a cure, so that no family has to go through the pain of Alzheimer's. 90% of all funds raised goes directly to Alzheimer's research and programs.
I will honor my Dad and Mickey by cycling in their memory this June. I will keep you all updated on my progress and will let you know the day that I complete the ride. Thank you in advance for you generous support! I can't do this without you!
Help me cycle towards a world with our first survivor and donate today!
Love you all!
Joe
