Why I Ride: Many people who are close to me have been affected by this disease, my Dad in particular who passed away recently due to dimentia complications, and people very close to me battle with the disease day in and day out. The team I ride for is named, "Grampy and Nana's Riders." Grampy and Nana are my parents. I am joined on the ride this year by my son, my daughter, and a friend who see how this disease is affecting not only my parents but others as well. Many call Alzheimer's "the long good bye." That is why I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million care providers who are usually family members and friends of those afflicted. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment for and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. I am getting very very close to my fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of my friends and family.
Thank you for cheering me on.
Cheer Me On!
