Why I Ride: It's been over four years since I lost my dad. Really, though, I lost him bit by bit for a long time before that. Watching his struggle with dementia and our inability to do much to help was one of the most challenging periods of my life.
This year, our amazing MacGregors cycling community lost one of our most popular teammates to Alzheimer's and we are all heartbroken for his family. So I ride for my dad, Niles (Pop to my kids) and for Coach Brian Igoe who has always been an inspiration to the Macs and anyone else who had the opportunity to ride, ski, snowboard or just hang out with him.
Simply stated, we need to beat this disease, which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for donating and cheering me on!
Cheer Me On!
