This July, I'll be participating in Ride to End ALZ South Carolina, a 255-mile, cross-state journey. Our mission is to raise the funds needed for the research, care and support efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease. I ride because I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I want to help speed up scientific progress toward better treatments and prevention. Each dollar I raise helps advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer's and provide help for those facing dementia today.
I am riding for my grandfather, O.G. Saettel. Watching Alzheimer’s wreak havoc on his life and the life of my family was extremely hard as a kid. “Why doesn’t grandpa remember me?” It was tough as a family member and I can only imagine how hard it was on such a humble and strong man as my grandfather.
Will you join me in trying to cure this horrible disease? My goal is to raise $10/mile to contribute towards our total $1 million goal.
If you would like me to write a loved one’s name on my bib or bike, I will carry their memory with me as I make this 255 mile journey.
Cheer Me On!
