Why I Ride: I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I'm riding in memory of my mother Elsie. I was honored to walk beside her as she endured Alzheimer's long and lonely journey. It's my hope that one day soon, families won't be effected by this devastating disease. The answer is finding a cure through research, and raising money to fund that research.Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on through your support!

The Walk
You take my hand in yours and lead me on
Through childhood, your grip is firm yet loving
I feel safe in your hands.
You take my hand in yours
I pull away, not wanting your direction,
I want to make my own way in my teen years,
Still, I feel safe knowing your hands are there to catch me.
You take my hand before I walk down the aisle
You smile, looking strong, hiding your sadness,
The path I'm on was rocky for you
Still I feel safe from the strength you've shown.
You take my baby son's hand in yours
So small and tiny and new,
Engulfed in your experience and love
I feel safe knowing he has you in his life.
You take my young daughter's hand in yours
You read of faraway places together,
She cuddles in your warmth
I feel blessed for this moment in time.
You take my hand in yours
You ask,"Where do I go?"
You look confused and afraid,
You feel safe by my side.
You take my hand in yours
You hold on tight, needing direction,
Your eyes don't recognize me now,
Yet, you feel safely led.
I take your hand in mine
You are weary and silent.
Know that I am with you,
I walk this path beside you
Into the darkness that leads to light.
Cheer Me On!
