Alzheimer's' has recently crept into my family's lives. My brother-in-law George, AKA the captain of Team Shakes, was recently diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, this past summer my father-in-law passed away from this cruel disease and my mother-in-law is living with Alzheimer’s at 87.
I am determined to go the distance for George, Pa, Grammy, and all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ®, a fully-supported, premier cycling event that supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Eric
