By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
As many you know, my mother passed away from this horrible diease on June 20, 2015. Throughout her life, she was involved with many great organizations - the Cheshire County YMCA, Fall Mountain School District and the State of New Hampshire School Board Association, just to name a few. She touched the lives of many during this time.
I am riding in honor of my mother in hopes to touch lives like she did, to make a difference, and to provide hope for others.
I am sure many of you have stories about my mother that I may, or may not, have heard over the years. Please share your stories and memories of my mother so that I may think about them through my training and during the course of the ride.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
