My dad has dementia. Last year at this time, he lived at home with my mom, his wife of 67 years. A year later, he lives in a memory care facility.
My story is not unique. Many of my friends have been affected by this terrible disease. I pray and hope researchers will find a treatment soon, or better yet… a cure.
I’m riding again this year to honor my dad and all my friends and families affected by Alzheimer’s.
If you are reading this, it’s likely you have supported the Alzheimer’s Association in the past by making a donation on my behalf. I am grateful for your past support. Thank you.
I don’t enjoy asking for money, but my friends and family remind me… “It’s not about you, it’s about those diagnosed with the Alzheimer’s disease, their families and finding a cure.”
This could be the year we transition from fundraising for research to funding the treatment of those struggling with this terrible disease. It's possible.
