I ride in memory of My Cathy
My family and I lost Cathy to her dementia in February . My beloved Wife, Mother and Gama of 6 is so greatly missed. So I ride in her memory and to support the important research to fight Dementia/Alzheimer’s.
After our kids were grown Cathy and I always enjoyed driving getaways. We traveled Route 66 through Illinois and Lincoln Highway also through Illinois. Always attempting to be on the old road whenever possible. Taking in all the spots along the way. Very fun trips for us!
In memory of my Green Eyed Lady I have planned my Ride2EndALZ to parallel the Lincoln Highway from Fulton IL. along side the Mississippi River east to Geneva IL. This will be 102 miles. Now my 71 year old body will require 2 days to complete this distance but for my Cathy this will be a breeze. Cathy will be with me all the way and giving me the same support she gave me throughout our lives together!
I am asking if you will support me by donating $1 per mile of my Ride2EndALZ , of course any donation you can make is just wonderful! All the donations go to the research to help with not only treatment and prevention but also a cure. Please join me and Cathy as our partner on our ride with your donations. Thanks and God Bless Cathy❤! Y.M.M.S.V.H.
Why I Ride: I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer's. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer's research -- only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer's. Thank you for cheering me on.
