I ride for my mom, Linda Baker. My mother is an amazing woman who spent her life as a nurse, taking care of people with dementia and Alzheimer's. She was the ultimate nurse, always caring for others. She's taught me everything I know about compassion, love and understanding.
Now, as we help her cope and fight her own battles with this horrible disease, we can only hope we are giving back to her what she gave so many during her time as a geriatric nurse.
This disease is such a huge part of my life and even more so now as I manage my own retirement community.
My hope is that with every dollar we raise, we will come a step closer to finding a better treatment and ultimately a cure.
