Why I Ride: I ride for Bri. My pal Brian Igoe from the MacGregors bicycle club has early onset Alzheimer's. In less than a year, Brian has lost his ability to drive a car or ride a bike outside, and he has recently had to move into an assisted living facility. Through this ordeal, Brian has displayed a level of courage, determination, and positivity that is inspiring, recently earning him the 2021 MacGregor of the Year Award (highly esteemed among the Macs!).
I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ in honor of Brian, a one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease. I turned down the jersey, t-shirt and other accoutrements normally provided to riders so that more money goes to research.
Thank you for your support.
Cheer Me On!
