Why I Ride: It's been almost three years since I lost my dad. Really, though, I lost him bit by bit for a long time before that. Watching his struggle with dementia and our inability to do much to help was one of the most challenging periods of my life.
Now one of my riding buddies from our amazing MacGregors cycling community is facing his own battle with Alzheimer's. So I ride for my dad, Niles (Pop to my kids) and for Coach Brian Igoe who has always been an inspiration to the Macs and anyone else who had the opportunity to ride with him.
Simply stated, we need to beat this disease, which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for donating and cheering me on!
Cheer Me On!
