Why I Ride: My mother was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer's about 12 years ago. The disease first took her ability to live independently and pursue the things she loves. It has continued to take away her freedom to the point she is no longer mobile and she is unable to verbally express herself.
I do not want anyone else of my generation to go through the painful process of losing to a parent to this devastating disease. One hundred percent of the money raised for the Ride to End ALZ goes toward research to end Alzheimer's. I am so hopeful that a preventative cure for Alzheimer's is on the horizon. I'm honored to get to help work toward it by participating in this event.
