Why I Ride:
It's been a painful journey to watch Dad's dementia worsen and make him less capable over the last several years. This is one small way I can help contribute to the ongoing research to help others suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
I hope that you will join me in supporting research to find treatments for this dreadful disease. The "Ride to end ALZ" is a bike ride on October 11, with riders doing their own thing all over the nation. However, I'm planning to do a full Ironman Triathlon (140.6 miles total) on October 17, so I'll be a week behind the "official" ride. Consider giving $0.10/mile ($14.06) or $1/mile ($140.60) or somewhere in between. Or more! If the race gets canceled (which, sadly, I expect to happen any day now), I'll still ride (at least) 100 miles to "earn" your donation.
UPDATE: As I was expecting, the Ironman I was training for was canceled. I'll try again in April, perhaps. But, I'm still committed to completing a 100 mile ride to support Alzheimer's and dementia research. It looks like I'll be knocking out the 100-miler on September 26!
UPDATE 2: Mission Accmplished! No swim or run, but I finished the full 112 mile Ironman distance ride on September 26!
I appreciate your support for this fundraiser, as well as your prayers for Dad.
