Why I Ride:
Mom was diagnosed 6 years ago and what a ride. Not the smooth quiet road kind, but like riding on a gravel road in the spring. Bumpy, but plenty of moments with beautiful views and laughter.
Alzheimers has changed the way we are together, which at this time is over the fence yet always in the sunshine. But still we laugh. That is the best thing, when Mom laughs at stories and humor, as she always has.
My teammate, Cody, is one of the positive outcomes of this disease. Cody works at Mom's new home. He brings joy to everyone who lives there and peace to families who entrust the care of their loved ones to Northglenn Heights. We hope our donations help make a difference for those with Alzheimers now, for those who we've lost to it, to families who are on this bumpy journey, and those that follow.
In love and thanks, Jennifer and Jean Bettridge and Cody Kohlhagen
