Why I Ride: This year for my birthday, I decided to participate at Ride to End ALZ fundraising event on 14 June, where all the funds raised supports the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to discover new methods of treatment and prevention for dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
I chose this cause as last year I lost my mom due to dementia.
The estimated proportion of the population aged 60 and over with dementia is around 8%, hence almost every family at certain point of time is affected by it in different way.
I am determined to ride distance of 160 km (100 miles) to honor my mom. Also, with each km I ride, I am raising funds to advance research towards the first survivor of Alzheimer's.
I hope that you will consider contributing in any way you can. Together, we can eliminate dementia related diseases through the advancement of research; provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and reduce the risk of dementia through promotion of physical and brain health.
Thank you for supporting and cheering me on!
