Why I Ride: On Aug 29th I will be participating in the "Ride to End Alz". Aiming to complete 50 miles, I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s, including my father- Richard Robie, who battled both Alzheimer's alongside cancer up until Nov 24th, 2017. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care.
Isthe 6th leading cause of death in the U.S.
$8,602,000,000- Total Value of Unpaid Care
I am also inspired by science. Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating in the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
Thecost of caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias is estimated tototal $355 billion in 2021, increasing to more than $1.1 trillion (in today’sdollars) by mid-century
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Any amount you are able to provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for cheering me on!
