Why I Ride: I ride for my Mom; my family's "Best Mom". Dementia has been slowly stealing Mom's memories, but her beautiful, loving, and happy spirit remains. While it is hard to lose the Mom who raised and loved my siblings and I, and who took care of and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren; it is a blessing to be able to still have our "new" Mom. Mom recently turned 88 years old. My family is not alone!
I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s. I am inspired by the strength of the more than 5 million Americans living with this disease, and the 16 million family members and professional caregivers who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, by riding 50 miles on October 11. Every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
I realize in these unprecedented times there is much need everywhere. I thank you in advance for anything you are able to give. With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Love and blessings to you and yours.
