I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer's or other dementia!
This July, I'll be participating in Ride to End ALZ South Carolina, a unique 252-mile journey for cycling enthusiasts. Previously known as A Ride to Remember, this event raises funds for the research, care, and support efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Many of you know that eleven years ago I was given the gift of life and received a double lung transplant. Jonathan's life, and his family, live on in me. I also ride for them to honor Jonathan's life (https://www.thejonathanfoundation4teens.org).
I ride because I am inspired by the strength of the more than 6 million Americans living with this disease, and over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I want to help speed up scientific progress toward better treatments and prevention.
If any of you know or knew someone fighting Alzheimer's/Dementia, please let me know and I would like to write their names on my jersey number as we ride across South Carolina.
Thank you for donating and cheering me on!
Cheer Me On!
