Our Team Story
I’ve joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s! I’m participating in The Longest Day to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Alzheimer’s disease has touched so many lives, maybe even yours. But you can help. With your donation families can receive support on their Alzheimer’s journey, promising research can advance toward a future without Alzheimer’s and lives can — and will — be changed.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light. Thousands of participants from across the world come together on that day and before to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s with different activities. Julie Collens of Stone Steps Herbarium will be hosting a family friendly seaweed pressing workshop on Saturday, December 14 from 2-5pm featuring seaweeds ethically collected from local San Diego beaches, a trip to Swami’s beach (MEET AT BOTTOM OF STAIRS at 2pm) in Encinitas followed by the pressing workshop with lite fare and beverages at Encinitas House of Art in downtown Encinitas. Entry fee to participate in the workshop is a minimum donation of $100. If you are unable to join but would still love a beautiful pressed seaweed art piece, a minimum donation of $50 will get you a one-of-a-kind creation. If you'd just like to make a donation to support ending dementia, we would also be incredibly grateful.
Your donation means so much, to us and to all those affected by the disease. On behalf of more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and over 11 million caregivers — thank you.
