Our Team Story
Let's hike - and create memories in honor of all those who are losing theirs!
I love to hike and explore - Oregon, California and now Colorado. Being out in nature is good for my soul, good for my body, good for my mind and a great way to get the feel of a place.
I also hike toward a cure for Alzheimer's and other dementia - by raising funds and awareness about the cause, the research advances, and all the free education and services available to families on the Alzheimer's / dementia journey. I'm grateful for everyone who has joined me or donated to my fundraising efforts. We are truly making a difference!
This is the 7th year that I will be hiking, hosting parties, playing, and creating in memory of Tricia and for my extended family. Tricia loved to do all the things - and she was very good at anything she set her sights on - she crafted, cooked/baked, stitched, painted, made cards, gardened, traveled, explored, and loved on her family. She also had a long decline from Alzheimer's/dementia, traveling a long path that ended with 3 years in memory care. Shrimp, her husband, is now living with dementia and has a caregiver at his home 6 days a week. This is personal.Donations of any amount are appreciated. If you want to hike with me or virtually, let's chat! Text me, or email me at smfoster@alz.org
