My Story
Alzheimer's Disease simply put is cruel. Personally, the last several years were hard with my dad's Alzheimer's diagnosis and downward trajectory due to complications from the disease. I spent the last few years doing things I wouldn't have imagined doing: moving Pops into a facility and spending time with him there, changing him, feeding him, things he could no longer do himself. We lost Pops in March after watching him wither away due to complications from the illness. While I wouldn't change the time I had with him, I sure wish it was spent doing the things he and we loved.
In 2024 I was part of a great team hiking some of the NH 48 4k'ers to raise awareness to the disease and the thankless efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. In 2025, I am branching out in honor of Pops and all those affected by Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of Dimentia to raise awareness to the Alzheimer's Association's ongoing research efforts for a cure and to provide caretakers like our family with invaluable resources, education, supplies, and counseling to navigate the difficult times of an individual in decline.
Anything you can contribute helps immensely. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
