My Story
Hearts 4 Susan/Hearts for a Cure
http://act.alz.org/goto/hearts4susan
This year to support The Longest Day, June 20, I am offering up my heart…or more exactly my hearts. My wife Susan was lost to younger-onset Alzheimer's and I started a stone heart collection to always keep her and everyone suffering from this terrible disease in my heart. For anyone who donates $25 or more, I will send you a hand-crafted stone heart. These hearts will help you keep someone who has been affected by Alzheimer’s in your heart. The hearts are on average 3/4” tall. Many are Amethyst, some are Labradorite, Moonstone, Quartz, and various Agate’s. When you make your donation, please send me your street address via email and I will send one off to you. My email address is tecox2@gmail.com.
Almost 7 million people are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease in the USA today, and another 11 Million are serving as unpaid caregivers. Over the past couple of years, the Alzheimer’s Association has contributed to research efforts that have brought effective new medicines to market that can vastly improve the lives of people with early-stage dementia. At the same time, the Association has helped provide support services for families affected by the disease such as the 24-hour helpline 1-800-272-3900. Finally, through our sister arm AIM, the organization has advocated on Capitol Hill as well as at state capitals to ensure that proper legislation gets passed to benefit Alzheimer’s victims, their families, and caregivers.
Help us find a cure for Alzheimer’s in our lifetime.
Please donate what you can and I thank you very much.
